We wanted a pouch that solved both problems.
The phone needed to stay sealed from water, while the touchscreen and camera still needed to work through the transparent material. It also made sense to give the pouch enough room for the other small things people usually carry with their phone, such as a passport, cash, cards or keys.

WATERPROOF PROTECTION DOWN TO 30 METRES
The DryTide Waterproof Phone Bag uses two consecutive zip locks to create the watertight closure. After closing both locks completely, the top is folded down and secured with Velcro.
The construction is ultrasonically welded instead of stitched. This removes the needle holes that would otherwise be present in stitched seams. The result is a waterproof phone pouch that has been laboratory tested to the IPX8 waterproof standard and tested to 30 metres (100 ft) underwater.
Proper closure is essential. Before using the pouch in water, check that both zip locks are fully closed and free from sand, hair or other debris. We also recommend testing the pouch for possible punctures before underwater use.
Using the touchscreen underwater
Leave as much air as possible inside the pouch before closing it. This keeps the transparent window away from the touchscreen and helps prevent water from interfering with the screen in shallow water.
The touchscreen will become harder to use as you go deeper. Water pressure compresses the air inside the pouch and can push the transparent window against the phone screen.
For underwater photography, using your phone’s physical side buttons as camera controls can work better at greater depth.
INDEPENDENTLY LABORATORY TESTED
When your phone is inside, waterproof protection has to be more than a claim. That’s why the DryTide Waterproof Phone Pouch was independently tested in a professional laboratory to the IPX8 waterproof standard.
During testing, the pouch remained fully submerged 30 metres (100 ft) underwater for 30 minutes. After the test, the interior remained completely dry, successfully meeting the requirements of the IPX8 standard.
While laboratory testing provides a reliable benchmark for waterproof performance, real-world protection always depends on proper closure and the condition of the pouch. For this reason, we recommend testing the seal before every important trip or water activity.

Yes. The DryTide Waterproof Phone Pouch is laboratory tested to the IPX8 waterproof standard and tested to a depth of 30 metres (100 ft). The waterproof protection comes from ultrasonically welded seams and a dual zip lock closure with an additional fold-over Velcro flap. Always ensure the pouch is properly closed and test the seal before important trips or water activities.
Can I use my phone while it's inside the pouch?
Yes. The transparent touch sensitive front window allows you to use your phone without removing it from the pouch. You can check maps, reply to messages, browse apps, change music and use most everyday touchscreen functions while keeping your phone protected.
Can I take photos and videos through the pouch?
Yes. The transparent windows on both sides allow you to take photos and record videos without removing your phone. Image quality may vary slightly depending on lighting conditions and water droplets on the outside of the pouch.
Can I use my phone underwater?
Yes, but with some limitations. While the pouch keeps your phone protected underwater, touchscreen functionality may be reduced once the screen is fully submerged. This is because water interferes with the way capacitive touchscreens work. In shallow water, you can often improve touchscreen responsiveness by leaving as much air as possible inside the pouch. At greater depths, however, increasing water pressure compresses the pouch against the screen, making touch input less responsive. In these situations, you can still take photos and videos using your phone’s physical buttons or camera controls, depending on your phone model.
What phones fit inside?
The pouch fits most smartphones up to 6.7 inches, depending on the thickness of the protective case. It is compatible with most iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel and other popular smartphone models.
Can I store anything besides my phone?
Yes. Depending on the size of your phone, there is room for a passport, cash, cards or other small valuables. If you use a larger phone or a bulky protective case, the available space for additional items will be reduced.
Will Face ID and fingerprint unlock work?
Face ID works through the transparent window on most compatible phones. Fingerprint recognition may vary depending on your phone model and screen protector. If needed, you can always unlock your phone using your passcode.
Is it suitable for salt water?
Yes. The pouch is suitable for both fresh and salt water. After using it in salt water, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and allow it to dry completely before storing it. This helps keep the closure clean and extends the life of the pouch.
Is it suitable for snorkelling?
Yes. The DryTide Waterproof Phone Pouch is suitable for swimming, snorkelling, paddle boarding, kayaking, boating and many other water activities where you want to keep your phone and valuables protected.
How should I test the pouch before first use?
Before using the pouch with your phone or valuables, place a piece of paper inside, close it correctly and submerge it in water for a few minutes. If the paper remains completely dry, the pouch is ready for use. We also recommend repeating this quick test after long periods of storage or if the pouch has been damaged.
Does the pouch protect against sand and dirt?
Yes. When properly closed, the waterproof construction also helps keep out sand, dust and dirt, making it ideal for beaches, paddle boarding, kayaking, camping and travel.
Can I answer phone calls while the phone is inside the pouch?
Yes. In most situations you can make and answer phone calls without removing your phone from the pouch. Sound quality may be slightly reduced depending on your phone model and surrounding conditions, but the touchscreen and microphone remain usable for everyday communication.
