The DryTide Vista 5L is a window dry bag for the gear you want to keep dry without losing track of where everything is. Its transparent window lets you see what’s inside before opening the bag, while the rectangular shape makes it easier to pack and organise than a traditional round dry bag. With 5 litres of space, it is large enough for everyday essentials, a compact camera setup or other gear you want to protect around water.

You are packing for a day around water and suddenly realise you are carrying more small bags than you expected.
One has your camera. Another has cables and batteries. Somewhere else are your keys, wallet and other essentials. Everything is protected, but finding the right thing means opening bags and searching through them.
That’s why we made the Vista Dry Bag with a transparent window.
You can see what is inside before opening it, making it easier to find your gear and tell multiple bags apart. The rectangular shape also makes the Vista easier to pack inside a larger backpack, travel bag or boat.
The 5L version gives you more space than the smaller Vista 3L while staying compact enough to carry as a separate bag.
- You want to quickly see what is inside your dry bag
- You carry cameras, electronics or other gear that you want to keep organised
- You prefer a rectangular bag that is easier to pack and stack
- You need more space than a small essentials bag but do not need a large dry bag
- You often carry several bags and want to identify their contents without opening each one
- You want a removable shoulder strap for carrying the bag separately
- You only need space for a few small essentials. The Vista 3L Dry Bag may be enough.
- You do not need the transparent window and prefer a simpler 5L dry bag. The Seagull 5L Dry Bag is the better choice.
- You need space for towels, clothing or larger loads. Consider the Bear 15L Dry Bag or a larger DryTide dry bag.
- You need waterproof protection specifically for your phone. A DryTide Waterproof Phone Bag is designed for that purpose.
- You only want to protect cards, cash, ID and other very small valuables. The DryTide Waterproof Wallet is a more compact option.

Rain, boat spray, wet decks and splashes can quickly reach the things you want to protect.
The Vista uses waterproof material and welded seams instead of conventional stitched seams. When the bag is properly closed, the construction helps keep water away from the gear inside. The roll-top closure is designed for use around water, but like other roll-top dry bags, the Vista is not designed for prolonged submersion.

WHICH DRY BAG SHOULD I CHOOSE?

All dry bags shown are closed with the roll-top folded down 3 times.
Different dry bags solve different problems. The right size depends not only on how many litres you need, but also on the shape of the gear you carry and how easily you want to find it.
The examples below are intended to give you a better idea of what each size can hold. Depending on the size and shape of the items, not everything listed will fit at the same time.
Need something smaller?
If you only need waterproof protection for a phone or a few valuables, a Waterproof Phone Bag or Waterproof Wallet may be more practical than a dry bag.
Is the vista 5l dry bag really waterproof?
Yes. The Vista uses waterproof material and welded seams to help keep water from entering the bag. Properly closing the roll top is essential for waterproof protection. Roll the top down at least three times, fold the ends in the opposite direction and buckle them together before exposing the bag to water.
Can i submerge the vista 5l dry bag?
The Vista is designed for rain, splashes, spray and accidental contact with water. It is not designed for prolonged or intentional submersion. Water pressure can gradually force water through a roll-top closure when the bag is underwater.
Does the vista 5l dry bag float?
Yes. The bag can float when it is properly closed and enough air remains trapped inside. Flotation depends on the contents and how much air is left in the bag, so do not rely on flotation as the only way to protect valuable equipment. Watch it float in the “See It in Action” video on this page.
How much can the vista 5l actually hold?
The Vista 5L is large enough for everyday essentials and compact gear. Depending on the size and shape of your equipment, it can hold items such as a camera with lenses, a compact drone setup, electronics, documents, a T-shirt and other essentials. For larger loads such as towels and multiple changes of clothing, consider the 15L Bear Dry Bag.
Can i use my phone through the transparent window?
Yes. The transparent window allows you to see your phone and operate its touchscreen through the window. However, in an otherwise empty bag, the phone will naturally fall to the bottom rather than stay against the window. To keep it positioned behind the window, the bag needs to be packed so that the other contents hold the phone in place.
How do i clean the dry bag?
Rinse the bag with fresh water after use, especially after using it in saltwater. Use mild soap if needed and allow the bag to air dry before storing it. Keep solvents and insect repellents away from the material.
