You are halfway through the day when the weather changes.
A few minutes ago everything was dry. Now there is water everywhere: on the boat deck, inside the kayak or on the beach. Your clothes can get wet. Your bag can get splashed.
The last thing you want to think about is whether your cash, cards and ID are still dry.
The Waterproof Wallet gives those small essentials their own sealed space. Close the zipper properly, put the wallet in your pocket or bag and get on with your day.
And if you accidentally drop it into the water, the trapped air can help it float back to the surface.
A normal wallet works well until water becomes part of the day.
A little rain is one thing. A wet kayak, boat spray, a swim, an unexpected wave or a wallet dropped on a beach is another.
We made the DryTide Waterproof Wallet for the things you normally carry with you but cannot afford to get wet: cash, cards, ID and other small valuables.
The idea is simple. Instead of putting those items inside a large dry bag, give them their own compact waterproof space.
The wallet uses the same approach we use across DryTide waterproof gear: keep water out through waterproof material, welded construction and a properly sealed closure. The result is a small waterproof wallet that is useful on its own or as an extra layer of protection inside a larger bag.
It is especially useful when you want your essentials close to you while the rest of your gear can stay somewhere else.
- You want a waterproof wallet for cash, cards and ID.
- You spend time around water and do not want to worry about your valuables getting wet.
- You kayak, paddle board, surf, sail, fish or spend time on boats.
- You want to protect your cash, cards and ID while travelling.
- You want a compact waterproof pouch that you can keep in your pocket rather than a larger dry bag.
- You want your wallet to float if you accidentally drop it into the water.
- You need extra protection for small valuables inside a backpack or dry bag.
- You mainly need to protect and use your phone while it stays inside the pouch. The DryTide Waterproof Phone Pouch is a better fit because it has transparent windows and touchscreen functionality.
- You need to carry a phone, wallet, keys and other everyday essentials together while keeping them close to your body. The DryTide Waterproof Waist Bag 2.0 gives you more carrying space and wearable storage.
- You need room for documents, electronics or several larger items. The DryTide 3L Vista Dry Bag gives you more flexible storage space.

The zipper is the most important part of a waterproof wallet.
Unlike a standard zipper, the DryTide airtight zipper is designed to create a sealed closure. When it is fully closed, the zipper prevents water from entering through the wallet opening.
This also explains why the zipper can initially feel stiff. A tight seal requires more force than a conventional wallet zipper. After repeated use, it becomes easier to operate.
To keep the zipper working properly:
- Close it completely before exposing the wallet to water.
- Keep sand, dirt and hair away from the zipper.
- Rinse it with fresh water after saltwater use.
- Apply silicone zipper lubricant when needed.
- Do not force the zipper if something is trapped in it.
Important: Always close the zipper completely. The waterproof seal depends on full closure.
The wallet uses 600D polyester with TPU and PU lamination and ultrasonic welding.
The welded construction eliminates the needle holes found in stitched seams and helps create a continuous waterproof body.
The result is a lightweight waterproof wallet designed for regular outdoor use while still looking much closer to a normal wallet than a conventional dry bag.
The DryTide Waterproof Wallet has been tested underwater to approximately 10 metres by DryTide.
The test demonstrates the level of waterproof protection the wallet can provide when the airtight zipper is properly closed.
Before using the wallet in or around water, make sure the zipper is fully closed and check the wallet for dirt, punctures or other damage.

Is the DryTide Waterproof Wallet really waterproof?
Yes. The wallet has a waterproof construction and an airtight waterproof zipper. When the zipper is fully closed, it protects the contents from water. It has also been tested underwater to approximately 10 metres by DryTide.
Can I submerge the wallet?
The wallet has been tested underwater to approximately 10 metres. It is designed to protect your valuables during water activities and accidental immersion, but it is not intended for prolonged underwater use. Always close the zipper fully and inspect the wallet before use.
Does the Waterproof Wallet float?
Yes, when it is properly closed and has enough air trapped inside. The trapped air gives the wallet buoyancy and helps it stay on the surface.
Will my phone fit inside?
No. The Waterproof Wallet is designed for cash, cards, ID and other small valuables, but it is not large enough to fit a phone. If you need to protect your phone while using it through the pouch, choose the DryTide Waterproof Phone Pouch instead.
Can I swim with the Waterproof Wallet?
Yes. The waterproof construction and airtight zipper make it suitable for swimming and other activities where the wallet may be submerged. Make sure the zipper is completely closed before entering the water.
Why is the zipper harder to open?
A waterproof zipper needs to create a tight seal, so it naturally requires more force than a normal wallet zipper. It can feel particularly stiff when new and normally becomes easier to operate after repeated use. Keep it clean and use silicone zipper lubricant when needed.
How do I care for the waterproof zipper?
Rinse the zipper with fresh water after saltwater use. Remove sand and dirt before opening or closing it. If the zipper becomes difficult to operate, apply a small amount of silicone zipper lubricant. Do not force the zipper if something is caught in it.
How do I clean the wallet?
Clean it with fresh water and mild soap if needed. After saltwater use, rinse the wallet and zipper thoroughly with fresh water. Do not machine wash it.
Can I use it as an everyday wallet?
Yes. If you like slim, lightweight wallets and only carry the essentials, the DryTide Waterproof Wallet can also work well as an everyday wallet.
It is not designed like a traditional wallet with separate card slots and compartments, though. The waterproof zipper also takes a little more effort and time to open than a regular wallet zipper. If you carry many cards or need quick access to them, a traditional wallet will be more practical.
Will a car key fob fit inside?
Yes. A typical car key fob fits inside the DryTide Waterproof Wallet. Larger or unusually shaped key fobs may not fit, so check the wallet dimensions if you are unsure.
Does the DryTide Waterproof Wallet come with a warranty?
Yes. The DryTide Waterproof Wallet comes with a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental damage or damage caused by improper use.

It’s too big if you want to use it just as a daily wallet, no sense making it twice a credit card!

I got caught in this huge rainstorm in the mountains, hiked for 2 hours in pouring rain. Everything was soaked, me, my clothes, my shoes, everything in the backpack… except for my money. Money was bone dry :)) Great wallet.

Great waterproof wallet, I really like how it looks and feels like a regular wallet. If it wasn’t for the waterproof zipper you could not tell this wallet is completely waterproof. Not too big, not too small, it can fit my car keys for instance. Zipper is a bit hard to open but it gets much easier after a while.
