DryTide 30L waterproof daypack is your new daily go to backpack that has you covered no matter what you want to do. As all DryTide backpacks, the 30L backpack combines the usefulness, versatility and comfort of regular backpacks with waterproof capabilities of dry bags.

If the 50L Traveler waterproof backpack is huge and can hold all your gear on multi day trips, the 30L is your everyday backpack, your daypack. With its 30L size, slim shape and both internal and external pockets it is still big enough for some serious day trips. It will help you carry and organize your things wherever you want to go: short surf trips, beach days with your friends, going to school or college, your daily commute to work, from riding your bike through the city to riding your motorbike through the mountains, this waterproof daypack has you covered in any environment.

Elegant look and slim streamlined design make this waterproof daypack feel right at home in the middle of the jungle or in the middle of the city. But don’t be fooled by the good looks.

Backpack is made out of durable 100% waterproof fabric and things inside backpack will not only stay dry during a quick rain shower but also in much heavier conditions like long and heavy torrential rainstorms, during various water sports like kayaking, rafting, boating, stand up paddling… This backpack offers protection beyond the regular “waterproof” tag, you can throw it into the sea and it will stay dry. At the same time this backpack will also protect your things from sand and dust. Both can be even more harmful to electronics than water.

With all this, DryTide backpack is still a proper backpack with pockets to organize your things, with shoulder straps and padded back, and a hip belt to help you carry it around.

REMOVABLE INTERNAL POCKET / LAPTOP SLEEVE

DryTide 30L waterproof backpack comes with a removable internal pocket. Internal pocket can be replaced with either padded laptop sleeve or waterproof laptop sleeve (both sold separately). FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can the backpack be used as a carry-on if you are traveling by plane?

Yes, absolutely. The 30L backpack is perfect as a carry on.

How big is this waterproof daypack?

The size of the backpack is 31cm x 17cm x 54cm (W x L x H) or 12″ x 6 3/4″ x 21″. Backpack has enough room to pack everything you need on a day trip – clothes, towel, camera etc… If you are going on a surf trip it can hold two thick winter wetsuits with some extra room to spare. The height of the backpack 54cm is measured with the roll down top closed (rolled all the way down). The height of an opened backpack with the roll down top extended is 68cm.

Is this backpack good for carrying wet gear like wetsuits, snorkeling gear etc?

For sure. The main compartment and both external pockets are waterproof. This means that the inside of the backpack will stay dry even if you drop it into the sea or no water will come out of it if you fill it with wet gear. The big external pocket and the main compartment let you separate your wet and dry items. If you have lots of wet items put them into the main compartment and your dry clothes into the external pocket and vice versa. If you only have some wet boardshorts and a swimsuit or a wet wetsuit top you can stash them in the external pocket and your whole main compartment stays dry.

It this a camera backpack?

If your main concern is to keep your camera gear dry then yes, this is a perfect camera backpack. It is just the right size, it will stop the water, humidity and sand from entering, it has enough pockets to keep everything organized and it is comfortable to carry. It does however not have internal padding due to obvious reasons – so you can use it to carry wet gear inside the backpack. If you need padding then you can get a separate camera cube insert that you can put inside the backpack. This way you can transform your 30L DryTide waterproof backpack into a full on waterproof photography backpack. If you only have one camera on few lenses also check the smaller 18L backpack.

Do you have any size difference photos for 30L vs 18L backpacks?

Yes. Please check this backpack size comparison article.

CLOSING INSTRUCTIONS

To close the backpack:

  • Align the top edges and tightly roll down the top at least three times.
  • Buckle the ends to the sides of the backpack for less waterproof protection, or buckle them together for more waterproof protection.

For detailed instructions on closing and using DryTide bags, please refer to this article.

CARE AND USE
  • The backpack floats on water but it is not meant for prolonged submersion. If there is a danger of falling into the sea, make sure that the roll down top is closed as tightly as possible.
  • Keep solvents and liquids like insect repellents away from the backpack.
  • Keep the backpack away from extreme heat and sharp objects. Even though the backpack is made out of tearproof and durable material sharp objects like thorns, needles etc… can puncture the material.
  • Rinse the backpack with fresh water when it is dirty or after use in the sea – continuous salt deposits can jam the zippers.

Got my DryTide 30L daypack in the mail a few weeks back and I finally got the chance to try it out. I absolutely love it!

  2. Dave W

Took my DryTide 30L Waterproof daypack on a 7 day scuba diving trip to Honduras this past week…and I couldn’t be more pleased…it is my new favorite piece of gear. For air travel, I used the 30L daypack in place of my usual carry-on and each day diving, I used the 30L daypack to keep my incidentals and “dry gear” dry. The pack worked like a champ all week! For me, in addition to it being “right-sized” for use on a dive boat (my primary use case) where it needs to fit easily under the benches, the multiple and differently sized pockets are the KEY feature. Most diving drybags are just one giant pocket where all your gear (large or small) gets jumbled up into one big wad…which requires you to open the main pocket to get your sunglasses etc…meanwhile dripping water on the other gear. Not so with the DryTide 30L. Using the pockets on the outside allowed me to segregate my smaller and/or my most often used gear from the main compartment which had other items I wanted to ensure stayed dry. Which they did…all week. Build quality is fantastic; elastic strap retainers are a nice detail to keep things stowed properly…my only very minor quibble is the external water bottle holder is kind of wimpy and short. That aside, I am completely pleased with how this pack performed and will be recommending it to all of my dive partners and students…Well Done!

    Utilisation Prone Paddleboard, SUP, natation.

  4. Andrea

I love this backpack, I use it when I go surfing, also take it when I go stand up padling and everytime I go to the beach. Looks good enough to take anywhere.

  5. Slav

Freshly unboxed 30l backpack, first impressions:
    – Overall great, good buckle quality, good seams, etc.
    – The external bottle pocket is extremely disappointing. It has fixed seams, no elasticity whatsoever — any attempt to put a slightly bigger bottle would result in breaking the seams. Really lame design, especially considering the price.

  6. Taja

Well designed and well built. Definitely keep things dry in a storm, kayaking, boating, hiking.. Highly recommended and would buy it again.

  7. gabrielgsa2

The backpack is extremely solid, looks great, all the materials feel like they ll last forever. The design is a 10/10. Customer support is fantastic, emails are replied super fast. The quality here surpasses any big brands i had. This for me is the example of how small business deliver better than big names out there.

  8. Ricardo Carvalho

Impressive would be an understatement. I have been putting my 30l into the ringer everyday since I received it, backpacking in the wild under heavy rain, wind, you name it, and, it outperformed any of my other 4 waterproof backpacks.
I wish only I could have bought it before all the others.
Keeping an eye out for the 50lt!
